Enjoy an engaging and interactive journey, across three floors, through 120 years of Norwegian popular music at Popsenteret - a museum and adventure centre for music lovers of all ages.
Experience popular music and culture in a new way, and get to know old and new music heroes through exhibitions and engaging installations.
Children can play and relax in the children’s room, with a new “festival theme” this summer.
Discover your inner popstar! Sing together in our recording studios and dress up like popstars in our photo rooms. See the list of available songs in our studios here. All recordings and pictures can be downloaded for free from out website at “min side”.
Music is magical and powerful! New this year is a small but interesting environment called “RESONANCE - Music and Human”, presenting the many ways in which music affects us, both physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially. In RESONANCE, you will find activities and experiences for all ages, in norwegian and english.
The museum is perfect for all ages - children, young people, and families alike. You may also visit “Popshop”, our giftshop with select products of high quality. Soft drinks, coffee, and ice cream can be purchased in the reception.
You can find us at urban Grünerløkka - a mecca for those looking for cozy cafés, quaint shops, and green parks.

Our main exhibit, named “the history walk”, is a long hallway that tells the story of 120 years of popular music in Norway.
Through videos, pictures, sound tracks and text, you can experience everything from the first commercial hits, to the emergence of rock ‘n’ roll in the 1950s, and modern superstars in the age of the internet.
In addition to the music, you will also find a plethora of technologial innovations and treasures that have helped push the music forward. Our interactive stations offer more in depth information about a wide variety of Norwegian artists and legenday music venues.

On the second and third floor, you will find "FUZZ" - our instrument park, recording studios, and photorooms equiped with costumes.
